Tip 1 – Our favorite Youtube starters guide

The best way to learn how to play Star Citizen is, in my opinion, by seeing someone explaining it in a video. Below you can find the best starters guide on Youtube for new players for the latest patch.

Tip 2 – The official Welcome Hub

Luckily Star Citizen has its own official Welcome Hub for new players. It allows you to get started and teaches you some basics. Eg. how to create an account, how to download the game, etc.

Once you launch the game, even getting out of bed might be a challenging endeavour. For this reason, we recommend you to check out the official guide – Welcome To The ‘Verse! For those that like reading rather than watching a Youtube video.

Tip 4 – What to do?

If you’re not sure what to do, here is a list with the essentials and our recommendations you try out!

  • Explore the Verse. Fly around and see the beauty of planets, moons, debris fields, etc. for yourself
  • Make friends. This game only gets better with friends, don’t be shy to say hi in-game!
  • Tour other people’s ships. If you want to try a new ship or the biggest and baddest in-game, just ask. Most people will be more than happy to take you on a mission or two.
  • Explore the game mechanics. Be it FPS, space combat, missions, building up your reputation with NPCs, mining, trading, bounty hunting, etc.

Tip 5 – Rent (or buy) ships in game!

90% of the flyable ships can be bought in-game. Most ships with gameplay value can also be rented. Top tip – if you can rent the ship instead of buying, do so! It can save you a lot of in-game currency.
